What is Aptos (APT)?

Aptos is a young blockchain project, the authors of which were former Meta employees. They developed a new programming language, Move, specifically for Aptos, with the goal of building a tool for creating innovative web3 applications. This language allowed the authors to create a mechanism for parallel transaction processing, thanks to which the blockchain can process more than 150,000 transactions per second.

Aptos is a young project from former Facebook employees (Meta), who decided to create the perfect tool for running applications that “define the user experience.” In 2022, the team conducted several rounds of financing, receiving funds from such giants as Tiger Global, Multicoin Capital, and Binance Labs.

In September 2022, the project was valued at $4 billion, and in October it launched its own network, Aptos. According to the developers, it can perform 150,000 operations per second thanks to its parallel transaction processing mechanism. Aptos coin (APT) became the native coin of the network.
